Welcome to BoxLock Control's release notes for mid-December 2024. We're excited to share several significant updates that enhance security, streamlines device management, new Lockout Tagout features and improves user experience across our platform.
Rotating Barcodes
While rotational barcodes have been available in features like Alarm Mode, we're now expanding this capability to make it more accessible for customers on Log Everything Enterprise plans and above.
BoxLock Control introduces a native Rotational Barcode type that automatically rotates when shared, with built-in support for both Android and Apple Wallet.
This enhancement delivers top-tier barcode security for everyday use — no mobile apps required.
Firmware Auto-Updates
BoxLock Control now includes an automated firmware update interface that simplifies the update process for device administrators. When enabled through the "Push Update" button, devices will automatically receive and install firmware updates when plugged in and charging.
Note: This feature requires devices to be running firmware version v01.78.16 or later.
Re-Organized Settings Tab
We’re preparing for the release of our Notification Center and realized some winter cleaning is in order. As such, we’ve updated the “Account” section to more clearly delineate settings for the Organization under “Org Settings” and settings for the User under “User Settings.”
Lockout Tagout Enhancements
We’re continuing to rapidly improve our Lockout Tagout features based on customer needs. The following updates are included in this release:
- Additional information is now available on LOTO Tags that was previously available on Virtual LOTO Tags including the Full Name, Phone Number, Lock on Time and Duration.
- The “Virtual LOTO Status On” and “Virtual LOTO Status Off” Activity Types have been renamed to “LOTO Status On” and “LOTO Status Off”
- LOTO Status Activities are now generated for LOTO Locations and Virtual LOTO Locations
- Virtual Lockout PIN Codes now automatically populate from text messages.
Updated DEWALT Tool Connect Integration
DEWALT Sensors and Tags sensed by BoxLock devices upload directly into Tool Connect. The integration can now be activated under Settings → Org Settings → Integrations.
Additional Enhancements
- A new [LG] icon now appears in Location dropdown menus that show both Locations and Location Groups to denote which items in the list are Location Groups.
- Barcodes, Devices and Trackables can now be exported to csv files from the list views.
- Additional General Activities are being recorded, further enhancing the detailed logging of administrative changes made in BoxLock Control.
Bug Fixes and Security Enhancements
This release includes various bug fixes and security enhancements. This includes resolving an issue where no data would display when a session had expired instead of directing a user back to the login screen.
