Early October 2025 Release
Overview
This release focuses on safety, access control flexibility, and integrations. It introduces reusable Barcode Roles, expands Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) capabilities, and ships enhancements to video and Verkada connectivity. Release date: @Yesterday
Highlights
- Employee Barcodes now have Roles, adding functionality for integrations and automations based on Employee Roles.
- Re-Organized Organization Settings to Improve Clarity and Usability. This includes a new Barcodes Settings Tab that incorporates Employee Settings and Lightning Codes
- Redesigned LOTO Settings Tab clarifying many of the options and providing a clear status of which LOTO related integrations are Enabled.
- Enhanced Peek Views for LOTO Locations, Barcodes and Lock Activities. Making it easier to “Peek” at important information without leaving the current page.
Barcode Roles
Assign capabilities to a role and then apply that role to any barcode. This separates “who is allowed to do what” from “how LOTO uses those permissions,” making roles reusable outside of LOTO.
- Define roles once and reuse them across sites, devices, and workflows
- Grant least‑privilege permissions such as Open, Lock, Tag, Acknowledge, or Audit
- Apply roles to barcodes in bulk for faster onboarding
- Prepare for future workflows that leverage the same roles model
Reusable roles reduce configuration drift and make it easier to audit access across the fleet. LOTO uses these roles, but they are not LOTO‑specific.
LOTO Related Features
LOTO continues to build on our safety foundation. All items below leverage the new Barcode Roles where applicable.
- Clearer step states and guardrails when applying tags
- Role‑driven approvals for placing or removing locks
- Better operator feedback during each LOTO step
- Admin controls to review, audit, and export LOTO events
Note: LOTO configurations now reference Barcode Roles to determine who can initiate, approve, or complete steps, improving consistency across lines and facilities.
Video Platform Integrations (Verkada)
Enhancements that help teams validate events and investigate faster, plus platform‑specific improvements for Verkada.
- Faster timeline scrubbing and more responsive playback controls
- Improved linking from events to the most relevant video segment
- UI polish for camera selection and status indicators
- More resilient session handling under poor network conditions
- Better error messaging and auto‑retry behavior
- Streamlined camera authorization and mapping flows
Quality and Fixes
- Performance and stability improvements across Control Dashboard and APIs
- Minor UI fixes and copy updates in settings and device pages
