Release date: Wednesday, Sunday July 20, 2026 BoxLock LOTO is adding a six-digit PIN option. One-time passcodes remain available.
Whatâs changing
New: For a protected LOTO action, you can now sign in with a six-digit PIN.
Unchanged: Your existing one-time-passcode (OTP) process is still available. If you do not have a PIN, do not remember it, or simply prefer OTP, leave the Pin Code field blank and select Donât know your pin code? Request a Passcode. BoxLock sends a six-digit one-time passcode for you to enter and continue.
Your personal Manage Barcode page still verifies your identity with a one-time passcode. A PIN never replaces that verification step; use the Manage Barcode page only after OTP verification to set or change your PIN.
For employees: use your PIN for LOTO
- Enter your phone number, email address, or employee ID.
- Enter your six-digit PIN.
- Continue with your LOTO action.
Use your existing OTP process instead
- Enter your phone number, email address, or employee ID.
- Leave the Pin Code field blank.
- Enter the six-digit verification code that BoxLock sends you.
- Continue with your LOTO action.
- Once complete with your LOOT action, youâll be prompted to set your Pin Code
No PIN is required to use OTP. Leaving the PIN field blank and requesting a passcode is the supported fallback. Your PIN never appears in a message or link.
Set or change your PIN
When your Barcode is shared with you, youâll now receive a link to a Public Barcode Controllet that shows your:

The PIN must be exactly six digits. Updating it requires one-time-passcode verification.
