When moving devices between countries, it’s possible that the modem needs to be reset. The best way to do that is to toggle the connectivity of the device between NB-IoT and LTE-M.
The instructions below assume that the device is in LTE-M.
Step 1:
Scroll to the bottom of the Lock Details Page and make note of the currently enabled bands on the device as you’ll need these when setting the lock back to LTE-M.
Step 2:
Back at the top of the Lock Details Page, go to: Lock Settings → Update Network
Step 3:
Chose Update Cellular Networks
Step 4:
Set the Lock to NB-IoT by following the on-screen instructions.
Step 5:
Set the Lock back to LTE-M by enabling the previously configured bands and following the on-screen instructions. If the bands look incorrect, you can add or remove bands accordingly.
Fewer bands may be less likely to connect, but will result in a faster initial connection time. More bands can provide more robust connectivity, but may result in a longer initial connection time and could result in the device needing to be plugged in to acquire a signal if the active band changes.
Step 6:
Plug in the device and scan a Barcode from the Barcodes menu that is Enabled. Plugging in the device to a charger will extend the timeout time, giving the device more time to find the best cellular band. Once it’s found that band, the device will stay on that band unless it encounters issues where it will then cycle through the other enabled bands attempting to find a signal.
