Lightning Codes (1)

Lightning Codes (1)

Lightning codes provide access to locks in areas with low/no network connection

Lightning Codes

Here, you can view and manage your Organization wide Lightning Codes. It's important to remember that you can also manage Location Level lightning codes, but this must be done at the Location level. These codes will NOT be surfaced on this page.

💡
Lightning Barcodes must be a barcode that is Valid for a Certain Number of Uses, with 99 uses or less. Any barcode that does not follow these guidelines won't be an available when you attempt to make it into a Lightning Code.

To make a barcode into a Lightning Code, all you will need to do is click the "+" button on the right hand side of the individual Slots. To remove it, you can click the "-" sign that appears next to it. This will only show once there's been a barcode added to the table, as shown below.

Lightning codes require a firmware update to use and only work on the 2nd generation BoxLock.

Please use this guide to update your lock:

To use lightning barcodes you must first have a barcode with a use limit enabled at the location or organization level.

Navigate to the location at which you would like to enable lightning codes and select the Barcodes tab and then the Lightning Codes tab underneath barcodes. Click the + on the right side to add a lightning code from either the Organization level or location level.

Here you can select which barcode you would like to use as a lightning code.

Congratulations! You've added your first lightning code. Perform a hard reset (Hold button on lock for 20 seconds) on your lock to make the lightning code sync to the device.
